Thanks you three. Claire, I hadn't even heard about the twitter app for Facebook. Shall have to have a look.

Cindy, if it helps, I often just think of one or two of the people in my twitter network who might enjoy hearing a little slice of my life in the moment. Then I tweet and am often surprised at who I hear back from. That's part of what has been the thrill.

And Liz, I apologize for being slow to approve your comment. That won't happen again here as you've now been approved as a commenter. I've read through your book and will definitely be referring teachers to it. Thanks for making it available. Now I'm off to check out the wiki you've recommended. Thanks for the tip.

Betty,
You have done a great job of articulating your journey in getting to know Twitter. I think you have captured the way most of us feel or felt when we first started using this tool. I'm also glad it led you to me and to my book and led me to your blog.

Twitter does an amazing job of building connections between people all over the world. My own journey has led me to meet face to face with so many incredible educators in my network. I learn so much from everyone and I hope people learn from me. At the bottom of it all that is what it is all about.

If you are looking to find more educators to follow, please check out this blog post and add yourself to the spreadsheet and wiki: http://edtechpower.blogspot.com/2008/10/spreadsheet-of-educators-on-twitter.html

Hi Betty,
It was nice to see that I wasn't the only one who was nervous about those first tweets! I still lurk more than tweet, but it's coming! The things I get into cause of you! :)

I checked out Liz Davies book. Looks like something I'd like to read.

I also like TweetDeck, but am still using Twhirl. This twit is all about "easy".

Hi Betty, it sounds like things are going well! I have to say that I recently switched to using TwitterFox in Firefox. It works better than the Flock Twitter client and has an easier to use interface. I do like the Facebook Client for Flock though, and am wondering if there is a similar thing that would work in Firefox.

I've enjoyed hearing about your month long Twitter Challenge, thanks for sharing your experiences. This series of posts make a great point for at least trying twitter.
